Jacob Rubin had a watch, clock, and jewelry shop here from 1904 until 1921. He and his wife, Rachel, lived at 595 King Street, along with Solomon Rubin, who clerked at another Jewish-owned business, Banov & Volaski, 383–385 King Street.
